The latest Roanoke College Poll continues to show Democratic Senator Tim Kaine with a strong lead over his Republican challenger Corey Stewart.

The survey of more than 500 likely Virginia voters shows Kaine maintaining a double-digit lead over Stewart, 51% to 34%.

Libertarian Matt Waters, had the support of 4%.

Harry Wilson is the Director of The Institute for Policy and Opinion Research at Roanoke College.

"Nobody should never say never," Wilson told WDBJ7, "but being behind so far and with so little money and so little support from national Republicans, it's really difficult to see a path to victory for Corey Stewart."

Wilson said half of likely voters had a favorable opinion of Kaine, while just 23% said they have a favorable opinion of Stewart.
