Lexington police looking for man who robbed Hampton Inn

On the evening of Nov. 27, officers from the Lexington Police Department responded to the Hampton Inn located at 401 E. Nelson St. for the report of an armed robbery, according to a release from the Lexington Police Department.

According to the release, an investigation determined that a single male subject entered the business, brandished a weapon and assaulted a staff member. The subject then fled the scene on foot with currency taken from the cash drawer.

The person of interest is described as a black male, approximately 5'10" tall and 180 pounds with a slim build. Reports say he was wearing a black hoodie with a long sleeved red t-shirt showing from under the hoodie sleeves. He also wore white shoes, jeans, dark colored gloves and an undetermined type of stocking covering his face.

Police say a man walked into the hotel, armed with a blunt object. Police were able to recover evidence the man left behind, though they did not specify what evidence.
