Local church partners with Rise Against Hunger

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- A church in Roanoke works with nonprofit to help feed thousands of people.

Members at St. John's Episcopal church created meal bags for people in need. They partnered with the organization Rise Against Hunger to create twenty two thousand meals.

"It means everything to me, because this is why we are here.We are here to be a place of grace in the world and offering food to the world. Both spiritual and literal meals like we're doing right now," said Eric Long.

The meals boxed up at the church will help people in the Dominican Republic.
