After years of fighting to his dream, Martinsville native Tony Gravely is one fight away from the UFC.

The work the Gravely puts in at Tech MMA & Fitness Academy shows when he steps in the octagon.

"It's just all day of working out, if I'm not working out I'm helping someone else workout." said Gravely.

After winning 10 of his last 11 fights, Gravely got the call to be on the Dana White's Contender Series. If he wins that fight he'll get an UFC contract.

His path to the UFC hasn't been easy, in 2016 Gravely left his career to pursue his MMA dreams.

"As long as I'm getting fights I'm getting paid, but you cut off a whole other steady income, it gets hard." said Gravely.

With the support of his wife, family, and community Gravely keep fighting and now he has more motivation when he steps in the octagon.

"It's more of it, it's not about me, it's about just representing where I'm from, the people, and everyone who supports me." said Gravely.

Gravely fight is August 12 and you can watch it on ESPN Plus.
