ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ)- Two Roanoke Catholic School wrestlers, Ethan Wright and Jacob Elliott have qualified for this weekend's National Prep Wrestling Championships at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

Both Elliott and Wright finished 4th VISAA state championships to earn entry into the matches.

The wrestlers left for the competition today and are ecstatic about the opportunity.

“I went in the 8th grade for the first time and watched people up there on that wall wrestle and it was awesome. I got these shoes at the National Prep tournament. It was quite the experience so I can't imagine what it's going to be like wrestling,” said Wright.

“I'm really nervous but I'm also really excited at the same time because last year there were only two freshmen in the whole 182 weight class and this year I am one of the thirty two that are going to be there and it's just great,” said Elliott.
