ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Our own hometowns are also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Day landing!
The Roanoke Valley Astronomical Society hosted an Apollo Day at the Science Museum of Western Virginia. Folks could take a look at a scale replica of the Saturn V rocket and a tiny rover! Plus, anyone looking for a little more adventure could take virtual reality trip to the moon.
"I'm really really excited with how well its been going, we had some really huge numbers come out and have heard wonderful things," Hannah Weiss, Director of Education at the museum, said.
The Apollo Day event lasted until 5 p.m.
