Volunteers at New Freedom Farm in Buchanan fulfilled a Hospice patient's last wish--to play with a horse. They brought a pony to her home.

Patient Ruth Almond got to hug, kiss and speak to the horse. Volunteers said Almond was very grateful to meet the pony.

"Horses always gravitate, they can tell if you don't feel good or if you're sad so the little horse went right up to her, the lady got out, put her legs over the bed, and bent down and kissing on the face, and she started to cry when she did. It was very emotional being able to help her," Regena Gillispie, a volunteer at New Freedom Farm who brought the patient the pony, said.

Gillispie said she brought the pony to Almond because she likes helping people.
