UPDATE: Suspects arrested after late night shooting in Lynchburg

Mark Anthony Goldring Jr. and Dystani Dale Bethea were arrested Thursday.

Both were taken into custody without incident in Portsmouth, Virginia.


According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers were called to 131 Timber Ct. for a reported malicious wounding late Sunday evening.

According to police, when officers arrived on scene they located a male subject suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Police say the victim was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.

As crews investigated, it was determined that the shooting took place inside of 95 Timber Ct. and was a result of a domestic related incident.

Police say after the shooting took place it was reported that the suspected shooter stole the victims electronics from the home before fleeing the area.

Police have identified the shooting suspect as Mark Anthony Goldring Jr., 31, of Reston, Va.

Police say Goldring is wanted on charges of Possession of a firearm by a convicted Felon, Discharge firearm in an occupied dwelling, Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Grand Larceny.

According to police, Dystani Dale Bethea, 19 of Stafford, Va., is wanted on a charge of Gran Larceny stemming from this incident.

Police are still looking for the location of Goldring and Bethea.

Police say this appears to be an isolated incident.

The case remains under investigation.
