Lynchburg Police searching for man who allegedly robbed restaurant

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Lynchburg Police are seeking the public's help in locating a man who allegedly robbed a Cook-Out restaurant on Wards Road.

Police say on December 8, just after 8 a.m., officers received reports of a robbery that had just occurred. According to a release from police, a man entered the restaurant, displayed a firearm and demanded money from employees.

The man is described as a tall and slender black male. He was wearing a large black hoodie top, black baggy pants, gray Nike tennis shoes with white soles and a black stripe over the toes, and he was carrying a large black backpack.

Police say the man took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a vehicle headed southbound onto Wards Road. The vehicle is a gray sedan possibly a Dodge Stratus or Intrepid or similar vehicle.
