LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) The Salvation Army of Lynchburg is doing its part to help those affected by Hurricane Matthew.

They are collecting items such as water, paper products, #10 cans of food, breakfast items, coffee, cleaning supplies and other non-perishable items.

The goal is to fill the truck with supplies before it's sent to help those in need.

The Salvation will be collecting items again on Monday, October 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sams Club on Wards Road.
