LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Raising money for one Lynchburg nonprofit has pushed some people "Over the Edge."

For the past two days, people have been repelling down the side of the Bank of the James building downtown. They're taking part in "Over the Edge," a fundraiser for the family services organization "HumanKind."

This is the fifth year for the event.

"HumanKind offers a wide variety of services. Everything from early childhood education and parenting classes. Life skills classes for parents in jails. Counseling and mental health services, to employment services," explained Ruth Blanks, director of special events and volunteers for HumanKind.

HumanKind expects this year's fundraiser to generate more than $75,000.
