Lynchburg man charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7)-- A man in Lynchburg was arrested Wednesday after reports he entered City Hall with a gun bag.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded to 900 Church Street and took Luther Scott, 52, of Lynchburg, into custody.

Scott, a homeless man who entered City Hall to use the restroom, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Luther Scott is now barred from all city buildings, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

He is being held without bond at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center.
