Lynchburg police investigate shooting death of teen early Sunday

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A teenager is dead after being shot in Lynchburg early Sunday.

Lynchburg police say officers responded to a home in the 2000 block of Third Street just after midnight Sunday, after receiving multiple calls from people who reported hearing gunshots.

When officers arrived they found Keshawn Lamont Dickerson, 18, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

According to police Dickerson was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he later died.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with Dickerson's death. Investigators are asking anyone who has information related to this crime to contact Detective R. Miller at (434) 455-6160.
