Lynchburg police investigating armed robberies at two stores

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating back-to-back armed robberies at two stores.

Police say the first robbery was reported Tuesday at 10:26 p.m. at Z Mart on Park Avenue.

The suspect pulled out a knife, but did not take any money before leaving the store, according to police.

Another armed robbery was reported 16 minutes later at Mr. Food on 12th Street.

The same suspect pulled out his knife and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the store.

The suspect was not driving a car. He is described as a 6'2" light-skinned black man. At the time of the incidents, he was wearing a black Nike hat, black pants, black shoes and a blue and yellow sweatshirt with a white stripe and letters "PRSH" across the middle.
