Lynchburg property manager arrested on embezzlement charges

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- A 52-year-old Lynchburg woman has been arrested on embezzlement charges as a result of an investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department.

Brenda Inez Waller, 52, of Lynchburg, was arrested Thursday on six counts of felony embezzlement from Jefferson House Apartments, where she served as property manager.

The case dated back to a report filed on March 28 that embezzlement was actively occurring at the apartment complex, located at 1818 Langhorne Square in Lynchburg. During the investigation, discrepancies in excess of $20,000 were found on the books, according to a release from the LPD.

Waller was arrested Thursday night without incident and was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, where she is being held without bond.
