The people who run Lynchburg City's government took a selfie break today. It was part of "City Hall Seflie Day" recognized across the nation.

City officials and residents gathered together on the steps of City Hall. A drone flew overhead that snapped everyone's picture. The selfie day is run by "Engaging Local Government Leaders" .

"It's to help people find out what city hall is, the services we provide, and the fact that there are a lot of wonderful people working here. It's just a way to connect citizens with city hall and with city government," said LuAnn Hunt, Communications Coordinator for the City of Lynchburg.

Pictures will be posted on social media using the hashtag #CityHallSelfieDay and #LynchburgVA. If you took a selfie in front of City Hall today, officials are asking you to use both hashtags and post online by midnight. If you do, they will enter you to win a $25 gift card to a local restaurant.
