PITTSYLVANIA CO., Va. (WDBJ7) -- A Pittsylvania County man is in jail tonight after deputies say he held a woman at gunpoint before fleeing.

Deputies say at approximately 2:15 a.m., a call was received to respond to the 12000 block of Rockford School Road. A caller advised that a female family member was being held at gunpoint by a male subject in another location.

That male subject, Randy Wade Francis, ran from the residence as deputies arrived on scene. Francis was in possession of a handgun at the time of the incident.

Following a 13-hour search, deputies arrested Francis without further incident. Francis is in the Pittsylvania County Jail without bond following charges of abduction (one count) and one count of brandishing a firearm.
