Records also indicate a search warrant obtained for the home on Holloway Drive in Hillsville was aimed at finding the victim's cell phone, as well as any digital recording storage, trace evidence and photos of the home's interior.

Deputies responding to a call of an unresponsive person December 22 found 30-year-old Cassandra "Lauren" Bolen. She was pronounced dead by Carroll County Fire and Rescue. Her funeral service will be Sunday.

The investigation led to the arrest four days later of her husband, 36-year-old Marcus Bolen, a New River Valley Volvo employee. He is accused of second-degree murder, and was also arrested for felony child neglect.

Lauren was well known in the community as the local CVS tech who also worked from home as a medical coder. Her family said her smile and one-of-a-kind personality really made her special, including her love for her three young girls.
