Man charged after three burglaries in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7)-- One man has been charged with the burglaries of three different properties in Franklin County.

Curtis Sparks Jr., (34) of Bassett, confessed to stealing a variety of items that included checks, tools, a camera, a gun safe and money from two properties located in Franklin County that were reported missing on July 3, 2019. After questioning Mr. Sparks about the Davis Mill Rd. and Menefee Rd. incidents, he confessed to an additional burglary from December 18, 2018 on Ruritan Rd., also in Franklin County.

Officials in the Franklin County Sheriff's Office were originally contacted by the Rocky Mount Police Department when Sparks had attempted to cash checks that belonged to one of the victims at a bank in the area.

Curtis Sparks Jr. is charged with three counts of Burglary, and three counts of Grand Larceny.

The case is still being investigated, and additional charges may be added.
