Man charged with shooting at vehicle in Franklin County
On Friday, April 26, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to shots being fired at a vehicle around 11 a.m.
A woman was driving on Route 220 in the Boones Mill area with her four-year-old child and a male friend, when someone shot her tire out.
Deputies say a black SUV stopped abruptly in the right-hand lane near the stop light in Boones Mill. The woman moved into the left lane to avoid an accident and continued driving. The black SUV then began driving in front of and behind the woman. She says a woman was driving the SUV and a man in the back seat shot rounds at her vehicle, flattening the tire.
After reviewing video from a local business, deputies were able to identify the suspect vehicle as a black Nissan SUV.
Around 1 a.m., the Rocky Mount Police Department found an SUV matching the description and detained the driver for further investigation.
Investigators were able to determine that this was the suspect vehicle and were able to identify the shooter as Michael D. Holloway, 33, of Rocky Mount.
Holloway was arrested and released later that day on a $2,500 secured bond.
