Man crashes vehicle into utility pole; causes power outages around Pulaski

A man experienced a medical emergency before crashing his vehicle into a utility pole in Pulaski.
Pulaski Police say on March 31, around 2 p.m., a man driving a 2012 Jeep Liberty was traveling near the intersection of 5th St. NE and Edgehill Dr., when the vehicle ran off the roadway, striking a utility pole.
Police say the pole was destroyed and collapsed into the road along with numerous electrical lines, causing power outages around the town of Pulaski.
Appalachian Power says currently more than 400 customers are without power due to this accident.
Police say 5th St. NE has been closed between N. Madison Ave. and Edgehill Dr., along with all sidewalks in that area. Motorists are advised to avoid this area for the next 12-24 hours.
