CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7)-- A man has died as the result of a two-vehicle crash Monday in Campbell County.
According to Virginia State Police, Roy R. McDonaldson, 80, of Lynchburg, was driving a Toyota Camry around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 501 and Eastbrook Road when he did not stop at a stop sign. The driver of a Volvo struck the Camry after it entered the intersection and the northbound lanes of Route 501.
He was not injured during the crash. He was wearing a seat belt.
Mcdonaldson died at the scene. He was also wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
According to Virginia State Police, it looks as if a medical emergency was a factor in the cause of the crash. The incident is still being investigated.
