A man has been identified as the victim of a deadly shooting Sunday night in the 100 block of 20th Street NW.

Police and Roanoke Fire/EMS arrived just after 9 p.m.. There they found Aubrey Belcher with gunshot wounds, inside a business. According to family members, the business is a garage that Aubrey rented. Inside, he worked on motorcycles, cars, and other projects.

The 31-year-old leaves a young daughter. Belcher's father tells us his son was a good man who was very generous.

WDBJ7 spoke to a longtime friend of Belcher. The two grew up together but Sterlin Russell now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Russell and Belcher lived in the same apartment complex together in Roanoke when they were young.

"I couldn't believe it I really couldn't believe it, I was shocked and in disbelief more than anything," said Russell.

No arrests have been made, and this remains an ongoing investigation.
