Man wanted for assault surrenders to police

AMHERST Co., Va. (WDBJ7) -- Amherst County authorities say a man wanted for assaulting law enforcement has surrendered without incident.

John Dundon had been wanted on a felony warrant for Assault on Law enforcement, according to a news release. Amherst County deputies attempted to serve the warrant on Monday.

Dundon had barricaded himself inside of his residence on Tyree Circle, the release stated. After being contacted by deputies attempting to serve the warrant, a Special Response Team responded and prior to making entry to the residence, and Dundon surrendered to Law enforcement without further incident, the release said.
