Married couple charged after string of larcenies and vehicle pursuit

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A husband and wife in Lynchburg have been arrested and face several charges following an ongoing theft investigation and vehicle pursuit.

According to Lynchburg Police, the two were found driving a stolen vehicle after it was reported stolen just before midnight on Saturday.

The couple led police on a pursuit that ended on Lakeside Drive where they tried to steal another vehicle.

Charles Wesley Branham, 26, and Lauren Alyssa Ware-Branham, 25, were arrested.

Charles Branham was wanted for a string of larcenies. He is charged with two counts of grand larceny, felony eluding, assault on a police officer, two counts of tampering with auto, four counts of attempted grand theft auto and five counts of property damage.

Lauren Alyssa Ware-Branham is charged with grand larceny (shoplifting), grand theft auto, possess firearm by non-violent felon, possess ammunition by convicted felon and grand larceny (not from a person).
