MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - We went to Martinsville today to talk to residents about what they're doing to gear up for the potential storms.
Roses, a discount retail store, was destroyed by last year's tornado. It's been rebuilt since then, but managers are getting ready for another big storm. But Roses isn't the only place in Martinsville that has concerned customers.
We also spoke with several Kroger customers about efforts they're taking to gear up for the tornado watch. One said he was heading home to unplug all of his electrical supplies. Another customer took a different approach. When she saw it was going to storm, she went to Kroger to buy herself a lemon meringue pie.
A Kroger employee said he's seen more people come in than usual buying bread and milk. Another employee said the shopping scene reminded her of the moments before a snowstorm.
Since early Sunday, its been raining on and off, but for the most part, it stayed dry and windy.
