ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) Rockbridge County's Maury River Middle School had a little problem at their last volleyball match.
The recording of the national anthem wouldn't play, so the girls took over and sang it themselves.
The coach says she considers the anthem a vital part of every match, reminding her players of the inmportance of the country and those who serve it.
"I don't believe in going without the national anthem," said Coach Candy Camden. "I have a son that served three tours, and I try to teach the girls respect and respect the flag and their national anthem, and to let them know that is why they are here today is because of that flag."
It must be a lesson well learned; the team is undefeated so far this year.
