Authorities said tips have led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man in connection to a stabbing on New Year's Day.

It happened on Tyler Road in Christiansburg.

The teen who was stabbed is expected to survive.

Terence Allen Sayles was arrested on Tuesday and charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.

Montgomery County deputies are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed.

Deputies responded to the stabbing Monday at 1:58 p.m. at the Radford Travel Center in Christiansburg at 2395 Tyler Road.

Officials believe the stabbing was possibly related to a road rage incident.

The 17-year-old was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Deputies say they are searching for a burgundy Honda CRV with Virginia "scenic" license plates. The car had a pink car seat in the middle of the back seat.

The driver was a white female with dark hair and a gray hoodie.

The passenger and possible suspect was a heavy set black male with a thin mustache, wearing black track pants with a white stripe on the legs and a gray hoodie.

Deputies say they are not releasing any more information about the 17-year-old.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the occupants is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 540-382-4343 or Lt. David M. Light at 540-382-6915 ext. 44422.
