Montgomery County still working to close sale of old BHS property

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Montgomery County is continuing their work to ensure the sale of the Old Blacksburg High School Building.

The buyers, HS Development are still in the six month period where they're checking the property to be sure they want to finalize the deal.

The County Board of Supervisors Chair said the fire at the property in July did delay that process.

Monday night the board had yet another closed meeting with legal council to discuss the sale.

Board Chairman Christopher Tuck explained, "You're still going through the due diligence, as well as you've got other issue that have risen, such as the fire, that we have to get advice from our attorney."

Tuck said HS Development has until the end of October to decide if it wants to close on the $3 million deal.
