ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Angels of Assisi rescued 18 German shepherds. The dogs removed from neglectful conditions in Floyd. Animal Control and local law enforcement were called to a home because the dogs were living outdoors on short chains with little access to shelter.
"It's up to the court to decide if they go back to the owner or if they become signed over to the state and eventually go up for adoption," said Lisa O'Neill. "Lots of things are up in the air, we have done extensive medical test for them."
Angels says they are welcoming any help from the public.
