CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Hobbyists, technicians, and craftsmen are offering their expertise this weekend in Christiansburg for people who need quick fixes.
The New River Valley Timebank and Habitat for Humanity are offering a Repair Cafe for people with broken furniture, electronics, in need of clothing repair, among other small repairs.
The event promotes fixing things rather than throwing them out.
"What we're trying to do is build community from neighbors helping neighbors. What better than having a bunch of people who know how to repair things in our society help people who need repairs," said Dan Crowder, with the New River Valley TimeBank.
People can bring their things in need of repair to the Habitat store on Saturday from 9 a-m until 3. All tools and materials will be provided.
