UPDATE: Cause of death of two in Nelson County preliminarily determined

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the death of two people who died in the county.

Deputies say the deaths of Deborah Lee Bruce, 60, and Michelle Bruce, 38, have been preliminarily ruled an "Accidental Overdose" by the Medical Examiner's Office of Richmond.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office says they were dispatched to the Lovingston Ridge Apartments at around 10:51 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report that two bodies were found inside one of the units.

Police have identified the bodies as Deborah Lee Bruce, 60, of Bedford and Patricia Michelle Bruce, 38, of Lovingston.

Police say they do not suspect foul play, but they are still investigating.

According to the Nelson County Cheriff's Office, the bodies are being sent to the medical examiner's office for examination.

According to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, deputies are investigating after two people were found dead near Ridge Lane in Lovingston.

Deputies say they do not believe this is a threat to the public.
