GREENSBORO, N.C. (WDBJ7) -- Get over to downtown Greensboro for the weekend of September 6-8 for the admission-free North Carolina Folk Festival.

Along with celebrating the country as a whole, traditions of North Carolina and other parts of the region also are put up for showcase through performances on numerous stages. There will also be a marketplace, family area, food, craft beer and wine at different sites throughout the weekend.

According to the media materials, ArtsGreensboro and the City of Greensboro will lead the pack of organizations coming together to produce the event that, in its last year, brought more than $12 million of "significant economic awards" to the city.
