The Roanoke City Police have confirmed that a North Carolina man was robbed at gunpoint on Friday after trying to buy a Lexus SUV that he found on Craigslist.

The police say the man met the seller at 2200 Mattaponi Dr. As he arrived he found three men accompanying a vehicle that was not the same car that was advertised on Craigslist.

Even though the vehicle was not what he was expecting, he still took the SUV out for a test drive with one of the men.

After the drive, the man instructed him to park the vehicle at one place on Mattaponi, and then move it to another. When he parked the vehicle, the man accompanying him exited the vehicle and approached him with a gun.

The man got away with cash and other items. He then went to a nearby residence to call 911.

There were no injuries at the scene and no arrests have been made.
