O'Quinn wins Republican nomination for 5th District House of Delegates race

Delegate Israel O'Quinn was able to secure enough votes to earn the Republican nomination for the 5th District House race on Tuesday.

O'Quinn led the polls with 77% of the vote. He was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2011.

He faced Michael Osborne, who has run for the seat before. Osborne took nearly 23% of the vote.

The 5th District is made up of Galax, Grayson County and Smyth County. Bristol and part of Washington County are also in the district.

O'Quinn is likely to run unopposed in November.
