PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE:
Virginia State Police responded to help find James E. King, Jr., 45, of Dry Fork, in the Mt. Hermon Community Thursday.
They say he was swept away from his vehicle. They say his vehicle got caught in floodwaters in the 600 block of Sandy Creek Road around 3:30 p.m.
Police say he waters were too deep and too swift for them to maintain contact with him.
Just after 10:30 p.m., police say special agents with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and local volunteer firefighters found King's remains downstream.
A search is underway for a man officials say is missing after his car was swept away in flood waters.
It happened in the Mount Hermon area, Thursday evening.
Officials said crews are out in boats searching the area.
The identity of the man has not yet been released.
