UPDATE: Son arrested in connection to father's murder in Gladys



Deputies say they have arrested Tyler Wesley Staples, 19, of Collins Ferry Road in connection of his father’s murder.

The Sheriff's Office responded to the 300 block of Collins Ferry Road at around 9:30 p.m. last night and found John Wesley Staples II, 40, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Staples has been transported to the Campbell County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.

Deputies say he is charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.


Campbell County Sheriff's office reports that one man has been arrested and another man is dead in Gladys.

Officials say they received the call at around 9:30 p.m. last night from the 300 block of Collins Ferry Rd.

This is being investigated as a homicide.
