One person injured in Roanoke shooting

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) - UPDATE: 10/17/2018 at 8:40 a.m.:
Roanoke Police reported that Jesus Hernadez-Soto, 39 of Roanoke, was taken into custody without incident by members of the United States Marshals' Service in Charlotte, NC.

UPDATE: 10/12/2018 at 7:21 p.m.

Roanoke Police are looking for Jesus Hernandez-Soto, 39, in connection to the shooting of Juan Lopez-Velasquez.

Police say Hernandez-Soto knew the victim.

While officers do not believe Hernandez-Soto poses an immediate threat to the community, they are asking anyone with information to call 911.


One person injured from being shot multiple times, following a late night shooting.

On Wednesday night, Roanoke Police responded to a report of shots fired on 10th St NW.

Upon arrival, Police found Juan Lopez-Velasquez, 28 of Roanoke with multiple gunshot wounds. Lopez-Velasquez was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

Roanoke Police believe this to not be a threat to the community.
