One person severely injured in manufacturing plant fire in Pulaski

PULASKI, Va. (WDBJ7) -- According to the Town of Pulaski FD, a fire broke out in the manufacturing area of the James Hardie plant in Pulaski on Tuesday. One person has severe burn injuries and was transported from the plant by helicopter. The fire was put out within a half hour and is under investigation.

According to the James Hardie company website: "The largest of the company’s U.S. manufacturing plants with 350 employees, the Pulaski plant produces both interior and exterior fiber cement building products. The facility houses various operations, including pre-autoclave and post-autoclave, and manufactures products such as EZ Grid®, G2, Plank & Panel (Smooth, Select, and Cedar). The plant also produces Soffit and is the sole producer of HardieShingle siding."
