Overnight house fire under investigation

ROANOKE CO., Va. (WDBJ7) In Roanoke County, crews responded to fire they say caused significant damage to a vacant house.

They say they arrived around 2 a.m. Saturday to the 5000-block of Crescent Blvd. First crews on scene say they saw smoke and flames from the second story.

The house has been abandoned for about 5 years. It sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported.

The fire was brought under control within about an hour, and the Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
