Parking and shuttle information for Virginia Tech graduation

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Thousands of people will flock to Blacksburg this weekend to attend graduation ceremonies. Traffic will be slow-moving throughout the town, and I-81 is likely to get backed up.

Parking information for Friday and Saturday:

The Coliseum Lot will be reserved for handicapped and special needs guests and the commencement stage party.

The Stadium Lot will also have a number of spaces reserved for handicap/ADA parking.

Parking for the general public will be available in the:
Track/Field House Lot
Chicken Hill Lot
Maintenance Lot
Litton-Reaves Lot
Duck Pond Drive Lot (the cage)

There will be free shuttles from central campus (the Drillfield area) to the Cassell Coliseum/Lane Stadium area during the commencement ceremonies on Friday (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Saturday (from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.), and Sunday (from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.).

Paratransit service will be provided from the Coliseum Lot on Beamer Way to the South Stadium Lot at the other end of Beamer Way.

Guests who park in satellite parking lots (Litton Reaves/Wallace Lot, Duck Pond Lot (the cage) at the intersection of Duck Pond Drive and Washington Street can also use Blacksburg Transit shuttles by showing a Hokie ID or paying a fare. Blacksburg Transit will provide continuous shuttle service from satellite parking lots to the Coliseum/Lane Stadium area.
