Lynchburg Police looking for photo evidence of pedestrian hit-and-run

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ)- Lynchburg Police are looking for video or photos of the area of a hit-and-run from Sunday night.

Officers responded to the 3500 block of Memorial Avenue, near the connection with Fort Avenue, around 6:32 p.m. for a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. They found one person who had been hit.

The victim was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital with serious injuries, and is expected to recover, according to police.

Police say the involved vehicle was a dark-colored car seen headed north on Fort Avenue after the crash, toward downtown. Police ask anyone who lives or has a business in the area, and has video or photos from January 12 between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. of a dark-colored car with front end damage, to call the Traffic Safety Unit at (434) 455-6047.
