Police arrest suspect in Roanoke shooting

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Police have arrested the person accused of a shooting at a Roanoke 7-11 convenience store.

According to a criminal complaint, Tyrik Dausha Merchant was at a 7-11 convenience store on the 3600 block of Williamson Road Sept. 14. Merchant is accused of drawing a pistol and shooting a driver in the parking lot around 2 a.m.

According to the complaint, the driver then returned fire, injuring Merchant.

Merchant is facing charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
