RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) — Search warrants have revealed new details about the murder of Alexa Cannon murder case.

Police have filed a search warrant for all phone and social media records for Alexa Cannon and Luisa Cutting.

The warrant would analyze texts, phone calls and GPS between Cannon and Cutting.

Records show that Cannon's phone called 911 during the incident. Cutting's phone was not found at the scene of the crime.

Police have reason to believe that the two were communicating with other people about the problems they were having prior to the stabbing.

Cannon was allegedly killed by fellow student Luisa Cutting following an incident on Jan. 24.
