Power outages follow line of strong storms

Communities across Southwest Virginia were in the dark Saturday night following a line of strong storms.

Appalachian Power reported thousands of people lost power including those in the city of Roanoke, Franklin County and Bedford County.

The National Weather Service reported damage throughout the region, including downed trees and power lines.
