BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Tuesday's primary results set the stage for important General Assembly elections in November.
Virginia is one of four states that have legislative elections in the fall, and the only one with a chance of flipping control of both chambers.
WDBJ7 Political Analyst Bob Denton says that means the nation will be watching.
"We know that Virginia in 2017, with that blue wave, forecast what happened in the midterms in 2018," Denton said. "And national interests are really looking at our fall elections to see perhaps what it informs us for 2020."
And with more than 30 primaries in the House and Senate, Denton says this was one of the busiest primary seasons in recent memory.
