Pulaski County ranks among the best in Virginia for job and industry growth, that's according to state data.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership names the county the second best in job creation and in the number of projects announced, and the fourth best in new capital investments among all 94 Virginia counties.

This is data pulled from last year.

During that time county employers added more than 600 jobs and five new investment projects were announced.

"We think we are going to reverse any negative trends that we've experienced in the past. It bodes a perfect opportunity for entrepreneurs for small businesses, for private developers," said Jonathan Sweet, the Pulaski County administrator.

The county administrator says more economic growth is already being planned for this year.
