Pulaski Police Department identifies body found in creek Wednesday

The Pulaski Police Department has identified the person who was found dead in a creek bed on Wednesday.

Officers say John Owens is the man who was found dead around 12:50 p.m. Wednesday in a creek behind the Deli-Mart on Route 11. Investigators found a Virginia identification on Owens.

Owens was reported missing from Pulaski County on September 9.

Detectives say there was no indication at the scene as to the cause of death.

Owens’ body was sent to the medical examiner’s office.
