Radford PD investigating possible police impersonator

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Radford officers are investigating a possible police impersonator case. The incident happened this morning around 6 a.m.

In a news release, police say the victim, a woman, was followed by a pickup truck from Interstate 81 into the 2600 block of West Main Street. The truck turned on blue lights in the grill to try to get her stop. She kept driving and called police instead.

Investigators say they do not have any additional information or descriptions of the suspect or vehicle. They are asking anyone with information or anyone who may have experienced a similar incident to call 540-731-3624.

The Radford City Police Department is investigating a report of someone impersonating a police officer in the morning hours of April 20th 2016. The offense occurred in the 2600 Block of West Main Street at approximately 05:50 AM. The victim reports being followed from Interstate 81 into the City of Radford by a truck. The victim reports that the truck activated blue lights in the grill of the vehicle in an attempt to get her to pull to the side of the road. Currently we do not have an offender description or any additional information on the suspect vehicle.
