Radford Police arrest man charged for rape

A man has been arrested in Radford for rape and aggravated Sexual Battery of an incapacitated victim.

Police say Marcus Avery Hash, 22, of Wytheville, was indicted on December 11 for an offense that happened back in October at the 1100 block of Fairfax Street.

Hash is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.

Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to call police.

Radford Police are investigating two sexual assault crimes that occurred Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

The first happened between 11 p.m. and midnight at a home in the 1100 block of Fairfax Street. The victim is a female juvenile and the suspect is an adult black male unknown to the victim. No further description is available.

The second happened around 2:15 a.m. in the 400 block of Jefferson Street involving an adult female victim and two adult males, one black and one white. The suspects have been identified by police and the investigation is ongoing.

Both crimes are actively being investigated and don’t appear to be related.
